Fun Things To Do
A great place to get to know the Smokies-- see short films, all sorts of wildlife, talk to rangers, see exhibits. Must do if you are just beginning! Located near the Gatlinburg entrance to the National Park.
Take the Loop road through one of the most iconic and beloved places in the Smokies. This quiet cove was home to original settlers in the area, and some of their homes and farms are still standing. Beautiful churches, mountain views, a sense of peace. It is our "go to" place in the Smokies. Loop road is closed to vehicle traffic on Wednesdays.
Take a trail ride on quiet horses through the cove. Horse drawn buggy rides are offered too!
This is a wonderful introduction hike, perfect for small children, grandparents and anyone else who wants to start slow. The trail is 1/2 mile paved loop, that is flat (by our standards!). It gives you a taste of the history of the Smokies as it winds past old homesites and the classic mountain stream meandering through the forest.
